So you need to make sure to take the next better version. You cannot directly upgrade your BIOS to latest version as you may have to upgrade in chronological order to reach the latest version. For example if your BIOS version is 1004.A, you can update it to 1004.B and not 1004.C. However, in some cases upgrading BIOS directly from 1004.A to 1004.C, skipping 1004.B is allowed but you need to follow the instruction of your BIOS.
