Mozilla Firefox is indeed one of the most popular web browsers available, not to mention that it also one efficient and convenient software that enables us to surf the internet and even speed up our browsing which makes the whole experience worthwhile.
However, there are times when our trusty web browser encounters its problems and thus causing it to lag. With the lag of the browser, it then gets annoying because instead of speeding our internet surfing, it is slowed down.
Many of the computer users – or rather Firefox users – would ask, “Why does Firefox lag?” The answer is simple. Most likely there are other data present that weighs down Firefox. A computer (even software) can be compared to a hiker. The hiker is loaded up with things necessary for his hike and paces at his natural, optimal speed. But if you would add up things to his baggage that are unnecessary, the hiker’s pace will surely slow down. The same goes with Firefox. Here are some solutions to the major problem of lag:
- Clean Firefox – Yes, software can be cleaned. In the case of Firefox, you can clean it by clearing the cache, deleting the history, and removing the unnecessary temporary internet files. Remember, more junk is more lag.
- Clean the Registry – It is highly vital for you to clean up the registry of your computer. More junk is more lag. Firefox creates a lot of data on your registry, thus loading the software up and slowing down its process.
- Manage Your Add-ons – Many Firefox users fail to manage their add-ons well. Add-ons like plug-ins and toolbars can weigh your browser down. It is best that you disable or even uninstall plug-ins and/or toolbars that are unnecessary. Doing so will lighten Firefox’s load and will give you a better performance.
