There have been times when a lot of us have felt the need to send an email but could not access the internet. This scenario is now going to be a thing of the past with HP labs in India coming up with technology that will make it possible to send an email with the use of your camera phone. Of tahe total seven HP labs all over the world, it is the research and development wing in Bangalore, India that has come up with this innovative technology that is sure to transform the way emails are being sent.
The Director of HP Labs in India, Sudhir Dixit, said that this new technology is currently being tested for flaws. The technology will be rolled out as soon as the tests prove to be successful. He went on to say that this technology implements high end image processing to ensure we use the paper and mobile phone effectively.
With the implementation of this technology, the journey of the paper would have completed a full cycle. The corporate industry started off with the use of paper and then went on to set it aside to implement paperless work environment and now it is bringing the use of paper back, albeit only when necessary.
Are you wondering how this is going to be a possibility? Let us give you a rough sketch of the process. You will have to write out the email that you want to send on paper along with the email address of the person to whom it needs to be sent. Now, use your camera mobile phone to capture the image of the text you have written. You will have to ensure that you download HP’s supporting software onto the mobile if you intend to send it to recipients this way. Once the image has been captured by the phone, the image will be processed and converted into simple text and email to the person to whom it has been addressed.
